Passing of Sister Mary Paschal Kelly SVM
Sister Mary Paschal Kelly SVM ,101, died November 1, 2009 at the infirmary of the Sisters of the Presentation. Her wake and funeral were held at the Presentation Center. She was born on Nov. 2, 1907, in Harper's Ferry, Iowa, daughter of Michael and Ida (Cota) Kelly. She graduated from the Academy of the Visitation and Loras College.She entered the Sisters of the Visitation order in 1928, making her first profession of vows on June 18, 1930, and her final profession in 1933. Sister taught for more than 47 years, the fourth and seventh grades at Nativity Grade School and also trained the altar servers for Nativity Parish for many years. She was past moderator of the Visitation Alumnae Association. She was preceded in death by five brothers: the Rev. Lawrence Kelly, SJ, Leon, Joseph (Rose), Clement (Margaret) and Maurice Kelly; and a grand-nephew, Drew Budde |
